A Talent Search That Achieved Runner-Up Status

In his exclusive interview with the reporter from “Rooykard-e-Kish,” the head of the Kish Free Zone Organization Workers’ Football Association discussed the talent search and evaluation of football enthusiasts and workers on this island.

He announced that the result of this professional approach, combined with four months of hard and intensive training, led to the runner-up championship for the working team from this region.

Payam Avishan stated: After introducing the technical staff by the Football Staff Association and forming the team, along with rigorous training, workers’ football matches were held in Kish Island for the first time. The Kish workers’ team achieved runner-up status without losing a match.

Avishan elaborated that these competitions included group stages and knockout games, where they won without going to penalties. However, in the final, they settled for second place in the country. Highlighting the strategic plans of this association, he emphasized: “We will surely witness joyful events in the near future with our special focus on labor football, and we will do our utmost to achieve the goals of the football association.” He mentioned that they have engaged the labor committee of Kish Free Zine Organization and are committed to taking effective steps in this challenging endeavor with motivation and determination.

The head of the Kish Free Zone Organization Workers’ Football Association evaluated the interaction and cooperation of employers in enhancing the sports level for workers in this region as important and positive. He added: “According to the law of the Ministry of Labor, every employer is obligated to provide a three-hour meeting for their workers every week during working hours.”

“Workers who enter the world of football and intend to participate in competitions require special support from their employers, and fortunately, they have received the necessary cooperation from the football sports association for this labor force,” Payam Avishan pointed out.

Avishan stated: “Considering that in the first workers’ football competition, the Kish team was the runner-up; it was a result of the efforts of footballers who worked hard from various fields such as hospitals, construction companies, Kish Development Company, hotels, etc.

Employers also shared in the joy of this championship.” According to Avishan, more than 27,000 people watched the final games of this competition, which were broadcast live.

All the devoted residents of Kish and football fans came to the stadium to cheer for their team, creating an atmosphere where discomfort was hardly noticeable among spectators. They witnessed that the capabilities of the island’s labor team were truly at a high level.

In another part of his interview, he noted the fledgling nature of the Kish Free Zone Organization Workers’ Football Association and said: “To achieve our outlined goals, we need time and understanding from our esteemed employers to create more ideal conditions for players.

With this approach, we are laying the necessary infrastructure for this sport, and a bright future awaits Kish labor football.”

Avishan remarked: “The labor football team represents the Kish Free Zone Football Board, and we align our efforts with the defined policies of the Kish Free Zone Organization. We will do everything in our power to attract athletes and tourists and will spare no effort.”

The head of the Kish Free Zone Organization Football Association positively evaluated the hosting of sports events on the island and added: “Holding such events brings economic benefits and media attention to showcase this region while also boosting motivation and morale among the football workers on this island.”
