Alvand Drilling Rig Parts Arrive at Kish Commercial Port from Dubai

According to Rooykard-e-Kish News Network, the Alvand drilling rig components arrived at Kish commercial port on Wednesday morning, February 28, after being transported from Dubai on the Alpha vessel.

The parts were unloaded and re-loaded using a “double crane” at the commercial dock of Kish port for assembly by a team of 45 experienced drilling personnel from the Islamic Republic of Iran in land-based drilling yards.

After passing customs procedures, the drilling rig pieces will be swiftly delivered to drilling companies.

Prior to the transfer, Captain Dariush Hamedkhah, Director General of Kish Ports, led a briefing with executive teams, engineers, forces, and divers to evaluate technical issues and ensure a smooth operation.

The Alvand drilling rig, constructed in Singapore 48 years ago, is currently owned by the Continental Plateau Oil Company and registered with Bushehr port under IMO number 8754932.

Back In February of this year, the rig’s mast was relocated from the Nasr Oil Field in the Siri area (Operated by Iranian Offshore Oil Company) to the western anchorage of Kish Island before being docked at Kish Commercial Port.
