Transferring of Alvand Drilling Rig Successfully Completed at Kish Commercial Port
Under the guidance of the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization, and in collaboration with the Kish Ports and Airports Development and Management Company, as well as the Iran Continental Shelf Oil Company, the Alvand drilling rig was successfully transferred to the dock of the commercial port of Kish.
On Wednesday morning, February 28th, 2024, the Alvand rig, capable of reaching depths of up to 90 meters in various locations within the Persian Gulf, was relocated to the Kish commercial port for necessary updates. This operation was facilitated by three towing vessels – “Karen 2,” “Karen 4,” and “Ocean Gill.”
Led by Dariush Hamedkhah, with the support of Captain Ali Vafainejad, Captain Khosravi, and a team of expert engineers, including Project Manager Engineer Foladvand and Iranian Offshore Oil Company Site Head Engineer Arghash, the project was completed within 11 working hours.
By the end of the day, the Alvand drilling rig was successfully docked at the Kish commercial port, marking a significant milestone in enhancing oil well production and operations in the region.
