Iran Urges Global Action to Stop Israeli Atrocities in West Asia
Iran condemned the Zionist regime’s air attacks on Yemen that killed dozens of people in capital Sana’a, calling on the United Nations Security Council and the international community to take urgent action against the Zionist regime’s crimes.
“The repeated acts of aggression by the Zionist regime against regional countries, along with the ongoing genocide and killing of innocent people in the occupied Palestine, have not only subjected globally accepted normative, legal foundations to unprecedented erosion, but have also trampled upon all moral and human principles,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced in a statement.
At least 35 people were killed and 130 others were wounded after Israel carried out air attacks in the Yemeni capital and Al-Jawf governorate, a day after targeting Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital, Doha. The Zionist regime’s attack on Sana’a came as tensions in the region continue to escalate amid Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip.Israel has repeatedly hit Yemen in recent months as Sana’a has staged air attacks on the occupied territories and the regime’s backed vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in support for Palestinians in the besieged and bombarded enclave.
The foreign ministry condoled with Yemen over the martyrdom of innocent people during the Israeli regime’s military assault, praising the nation’s courageous solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians. It further emphasized the need for unity and cooperation among Islamic states to confront the Zionist regime’s expansionism and warmongering.
